Huntsville, 03/04/08
Today we go like usually at 8 am to the breakfast. We look
in the Huntsville Times, where we see a photo of our team in
the Center of Technology. After eating and reading the
article, we go to the Hadricks to pick up a trailer for our
Moonuggy.
While the team is packing the staff of our Moonbuggy, each
member gets some cookies, juice, coffee or hot chocolate.
In spite of the trailer, we go a small part of the route by
the Moobuggy. The first one are Andrij and me. The streets
go very up and down. We have so high speed and we rush more
down. Suddenly there comes a curve and we cannot break. So
we rotate around the own axis. The others are already
waiting. Then I change my place with Peggy. Till 11.45 they
are driving. After that we lift the Moonbuggy on the
trailer.
At 12.15, we arrive in the Space&Rocket Center. There we
install a tent for our team and test ones more the
telemetrie and the Moonbuggy. In this time there come two
students of the Delhi College of Engeneering. We have a
small talk, take some photos
and they observe a little bit our Moonbuggy. It
begins to rain. The indian team lost one suit-case with the
tools and they have no possibility to construct their
Moonbuggy without becoming wet. That's why, Mr. Heckel has
the idea to ask the Center of Technologie if they can
contruct their Moonbuggy there with their tools. First we go
registrate us. Next Philipp and Mr. Heckel go with the
Indians in this High School. The rest of the team goes in
the Center.
We look in the Souvenir Shops and buy some presents for
family and friends. After one hours, Mrs. Heckel and me look
for something to eat. Then we get something and go outside
to our tent. The team eat some food and wait for the indian
team. In this moment, they are comig. We meet the team and I
go a small round with the indian pilot by Moonbuggy.
Afterwards, at 18 o'clock is the Safety-Meeting for about
ten Minutes. Then we practise to carry the and to open the
Moonbuggy. We need 6,7 seconds to open it. Mr. Prof. Dr.
Freiherr von Puttkamer. was also there.
Below: Safety Briefing.
That's why we earn a good dinner in the restaurant „El
Palacio“ with him. There is typical Mexican food like
Burritos, Enchiladas, Tacos and Fajitas. We talk a lot and
had a lot of fun there and of course, the food is
delicious.
